Learn to rest, not quit
With everything that is going on in the world today, I am tired. I am tired of Covid and what is has done to not only the world and our country, but what it has done to my small town, my family and my kids. I see an anxiety in my youngest that I haven't seen before. I am tired of the division between the vaccinated and unvaccinated, I am tired of social media, yes, I know that is how I make a living, but I am tired of it. I am tired of the life altering decisions that I am faced with and quite honestly, I am tired of making my bed and deciding what is for dinner every night.
Jesus says in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest" As I read this scripture and think about being tired, it isn't a physical tired, it's more of a mental tired. It brings one of my favorite songs to mind, Turn your eyes upon Jesus. The lyrics say,
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
Coming to Jesus when you are tired and burdened will give you rest, it will give you hope and a new perspective. When I'm tired and I go to Jesus, it gives me peace about the day. We need to learn to rest when we are tired, not quit. Keep going, but rest. Take time out in your day to do something for you. Talk to God, let him lead you. So go and rest your mind and your body. Pray daily and do something for you everyday.
Much Love, Lacy
