God cares about the small things

This past weekend my family and I went to the Play Texas in Palo Duro Canyon.  If you have never been, I highly recommend going. It is amazing! Anyway, as the day went on the weather started looking iffy. As I watched the weather, there was a huge storm passing right over Palo Duro Canyon during the time of the show and Amarillo was under a flood warning. Needless to say I was super bummed. We decided to go and take our chances. We took an extra sweatshirt to change into in case we got soaked.  I also had the kids wear shoes that wouldn't get ruined if they got the red mud from the canyon on them. We headed to the play and the sky turned dark. As we were sitting, waiting for the show to start, it started to sprinkle, but it stopped before the show started. As the show went on we watched the storm move around the canyon and the lightening from the storm was a show in itself. During the show there is a scene where a bad storm comes and lightning strikes a tree in the background. During this scene it began to rain lightly and lightning was filling the sky. As soon as the lightning struck the tree and the scene was over and the stage went dark, a huge bolt of lightning shot across the sky and wowed the audience. The rain stopped and the show went on. There was one more rain scene where the guy is super happy that it is raining and runs out to play and dance in the rain. During this scene, again, it started to rain on que just as it was part of the show. The rain never became heavy and we didn't get soaked but we all left in awe of the weather which made the show amazing.

I tell you this story to say that God cares about the small details of your life. Luke 12:7 says "Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows." God cares about our lives. I truly believe that God held the storm off and gave us an incredible experience. His creation is amazing and to sit and watch it, put a smile on my face. Remember to watch for God in the small details of your life and thank him for caring about the small details.

God wanted us to enjoy the time together and for my kids to enjoy their "surprise." He not only helped us enjoy our weekend but he made it amazing! Today I challenge you to watch for and thank God for the small things in your life that he does for you!

Much Love,

 Lacy
